Relentless
Tim Grover
Trainer to Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan, and Dwayne Wade (among many others) the author, Tim Grover tells us what the best athletes/performers in the world, “Cleaners,” do to make them unstoppable.
Real Cleaners are addicted to the intense rush of success. They’ll do anything to keep that feeling.
Cleaners don’t care about the “bling” and the short-term gratification. All they care about is the end result. Have you seen Warren Buffet (the richest man in the world at one time), who wears the worst suit in the room and still lives in the same house in Omaha he bought 60 years ago? He does not care about appearances. He cares about the bottom line.
Levels of Athletic Performance:
Coolers = good
Closers = great
Cleaners = unstoppable
You can lose weight pretty simply – move your body and eat fewer calories. But, no one ever lost weight by analyzing the situation or by only reading a book about weight loss. Reading only gets you so far – you’ve got to put in the work.
Trust your gut to get to your goal. Don’t live by other people’s standards.
The best Cleaners wanted the pressure. They purposely added pressure to the situation. Use stress. Don’t run from it.
You don’t have to be in love with the work, but you become addicted to the results.
